Integrative Bodywork
Integrative Bodywork Introduction
Integrative Bodywork draws from my experience in many modalities. I was a massage therapist in California from 2007-2019, practicing Swedish, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, myofascial and Ayurvedic massage therapy, as well as alternative modalities including Craniosacral Balancing, Polarity Therapy, Reiki, and Ayurvedic Wellness Counseling. I call my current practice Integrative Bodywork because it brings the best of all of these together, with particular attentiveness to the nervous system and energy body.
Working in a spa in the past, I encountered so many people who just wanted me to pressure their muscles into relaxation, but whom I could tell were holding a lot of tension in their minds. My aim is not just to do physical manipulation, but to nourish the mind and nervous system and support you in the art of relaxation. I bring my knowledge of Ayurveda and bodywork together, plus my years of experience.
I may utilize stretching, rocking, and holding, as well focused firm, gentle pressure, and long strokes with Ayurvedic oils that also work with to balance the energies in your system. This integrative technique addresses the muscular system as well as the lymphatic, circulatory, digestive, energetic and nervous systems. When the more subtle ones are relaxed, the muscles and fascia are able to let go and allow repair from within, helping mind, body and spirit to integrate with more clarity and wholeness.
This integrative bodywork can relieve a lot of physical and emotional pain, stress, and holding. Benefits can include improved sleep, digestion, circulation, immune system function, clearer skin, reduced blood pressure, and can assist in injury or trauma recovery.
